MV Emperor Serenity Maldives

Diving trip to the Maldives, diving in the South Central Atolls. An area with virgin reefs and full of life. Here we can dive with numerous sharks in their famous “kandus”. Most of the dives are deep diving and sometimes with strong currents. It is not a trip for divers with little experience. We recommend that, you have at least one hundred dives recorded in your “logbook” in order to fully enjoy diving in this part of the Maldives.

From January to March is the ideal time to dive in this part of the Maldives. The current to the “kandus” comes from the East. There is a great variety of dives, from exciting dives in the channels or “kandus” to more relaxed dives within the atolls, in their “Thilas” or “Giris”.

Hammerhead sharks are often found on Thaa Atoll, as well as whale sharks that visit our boat at night attracted by krill, which in turn are attracted to the lights. When the currents are favorable, the dives in the “kandus” are exceptional.

You will join your liveaboard in Male or Laamu (Kadhdhoo), and then go will start our adventure.

This itinerary has a lot of drift diving, making it more suitable for more advanced divers. With a really good visibility in the southern atolls, this is ideal for photographers and videographers looking for bigger pelagic action.
